Josh Hader To Serve As Traditional Closer In 2021
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader will serve as a traditional closer for his team during the 2021 season, per manager Craig Counsell. Hader will be locked into the ninth-inning- with Devin Williams in front of him- a role that should be great news for his fantasy value. The 26-year-old has compiled 50 saves with a 2.85 ERA in 94.2 innings over the last two seasons combined. Hader is reportedly working on permanently adding a changeup to his arsenal, which would bode well for his chances of keeping hitters off-balance and increasing that strikeout rate, given he normally relies on the fastball-slider combo for nearly 100 percent of his pitches. He should be one of the top-two closers off the board in drafts.
