Josh Hader Gets First Save Of 2018 Season
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader went two innings and allowed no base runners with five strikeouts in the 5-1 win over the New York Mets. Hader came in the eighth when the score was 4-1, and after the Brewers scored another run in the ninth, they decided to keep him out there and finish the game. This is not exactly indicative of Hader being put in a closer role as Matt Albers coming in for the ninth would've been a non-save situation, so this was most likely the Brewers not wanting to use another pitcher when they didn't need to. Hader is now at a 1.86 ERA and a mindblowing 22 strikeouts in only 9 2/3 innings pitched. Despite getting no saves, Hader is making a pretty good case to be owned in all formats.
