Josh Hader Faces Possible Trade Deadline Move
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers closer Josh Hader is likely to be a name that is circled by many front offices as a potential addition at the back end of a bullpen around the Trade Deadline next week. But acquiring a two-time All-Star that is yet to allow a run this season will likely cost a significant penny, one in excess of the Gleyber Torres-Aroldis Chapman deal from 2016. Milwaukee remains in playoff contention, but things have not broken their way thus far in 2020, which could force them to look elsewhere, particularly if a club is willing to part with a massive package to acquire Hader. While a trade is detrimental to the value of most closers, Hader would figure to become the closer anywhere that he went. Owners can continue running Hader out with massive confidence as he has amassed 13 strikeouts in 8 ⅓ frames with a 0.60 WHIP.
