Josh Gordon Could Be Activated Next Week
4 years agoKansas City Chiefs wide receiver Josh Gordon has reportedly impressed his new team in his first week of practice. Gordon has drawn praise from head coach Andy Reid, with NFL Network's Ian Rapoport writing that the 30-year-old looks like a no. 1 receiver and has flashed big-play ability in practice while quickly picking up the playbook. Such praise has the Chiefs eyeing a Week 5 date against the Bills for Gordon's debut, though it's still unclear how much of a role he'll fill in the offense. For now, it's best to stash Gordon on benches until we see how he performs in game action, though there's some fantasy intrigue in the Chiefs' high-octane offense.

Josh Gordon Elevated Ahead Of Week 3
3 years agoTennessee Titans wide receiver Josh Gordon was elevated to the active roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Gordon was also active for the team just five days ago on Monday night, commanding a 32 percent snap share and one target. Josh Gordon Promoted To Active Roster
3 years agoThe Tennessee Titans are elevating wide receiver Josh Gordon from the practice squad to the active roster for Monday night's game against the Buffalo Bills, according to his agent, Zac Hiller. "Josh just needs opportunities to prove that he's still the incredible player and talent he's always been," Hiller said. It could be an early sign that rookie receiver Kyle Philips (shoulder) won't be able to play on Monday night. Even if that's the case, there's no guarantee that Gordon will even see the field for more than a handful of offensive snaps in a tough matchup against Buffalo's defense. In 12 games (seven starts) for the Chiefs in 2021, Gordon had only five catches on 14 targets for 32 yards and a touchdown. Continue to leave him on the waiver wire.

Titans Sign Josh Gordon To The Practice Squad
3 years agoThe Tennessee Titans signed former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Josh Gordon to their practice squad on Thursday, according to his agent. Gordon was cut by the Chiefs on Tuesday but will quickly land on his feet in Tennessee. The 31-year-old led the NFL with 1,646 receiving yards in just his second NFL season in 2013 with the Cleveland Browns, but suspensions and off-the-field issues derailed his career shortly after that. In 12 games (seven starts) for the Chiefs last year, he had just five catches on 14 targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in the regular season. Gordon will have more opportunity, but as of right now, he'll just be providing depth behind Robert Woods, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and rookies Treylon Burks and Kyle Philips.

Josh Gordon Visits With Titans
3 years agoFree-agent wide receiver Josh Gordon, who led the league in receiving yards way back in 2013, is visiting with the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday. Gordon was cut by the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday and is looking to latch on with another organization before the start of the regular season. A once-promising career was mostly derailed by suspensions due to off-the-field issues, and it's unlikely that he'll ever be much of a fantasy asset again in the NFL. However, the 31-year-old could offer the Titans some receiver depth behind rookies Treylon Burks and Kyle Philips in 2022. Robert Woods and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine are projected to open the year as the top two pass-catchers. Gordon caught five of his 14 targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in 12 regular season games for KC in 2021.
