Josh Donaldson Departs Early Wednesday
2 years agoNew York Yankees third baseman Josh Donaldson left Wednesday's game early with what appeared to be a leg injury. Isiah Kiner-Falefa replaced him at third base. Donaldson is off to a slow start this season, going just 2-for-15 (.133) with one home run and one walk across 16 trips to the plate prior to Wednesday's contest. It's a concerning start considering the 37-year-old endured a down 2022 season when he hit just .222 with 15 HR and a .682 OPS across 132 games. His bat graded out worse than the league average for the first time since the 2012 season as per his 97 wRC+. An update on his status should be available before Friday's series opener versus the Baltimore Orioles following the postponement of Thursday's game due to inclement weather.
