After back-to-back bad finishes at Martinsville and Darlington, plenty of people may be overlooking Josh Berry this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, but that's not the smart thing to do. In the spring Bristol race last season, Berry started second and finished 12th (leading 25 laps along the way) while driving for Stewart-Haas Racing, and now he (arguably) has some better equipment to work with in the No. 21 Ford for Wood Brothers Racing. This weekend, Berry qualified 11th and ranked 14th-best in practice when it came to 25-lap average. In terms of single-lap speed, the No. 21 Ford ranked 36th out of 39 cars, but that slow time could have been due to traffic on the race track during Josh's opening laps. On DraftKings this weekend, Berry is priced at $7,700 and is a somewhat-risky tournament play. With his upside, he makes a decent pivot in his price range off of some of the more popular drivers this weekend.

Look for Josh Berry to move up once the green flag waves on the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway on Sunday afternoon. The Wood Brothers Racing driver had one of the fastest cars during practice on Saturday afternoon--Berry actually posted the second-fastest lap in the session--but the No. 21 Ford wasn't able to back up that speed in qualifying. In terms of 15-lap average, Berry ranked fastest in that category, so his long-run speed looked strong as well. Last season at "The Lady in Black," Berry posted a legitimate third-place finish in the spring before ending up a disappointing 31st in the fall after a wreck. With that being said, he had top-10 speed in the fall, too. As far as DFS goes this weekend, Josh Berry (priced at $7,800 on DraftKings) is a strong daily fantasy option to work with and is a viable option in all fantasy formats on Sunday.

Josh Berry is poised for a strong run at Martinsville Speedway this weekend in his No. 21 Ford. Remember, Martinsville is the track that kind of started Berry's rise to Cup competition, as he went to victory lane here in the Xfinity Series. Now he is in a quasi-Penske Ford with the Wood Brothers, and Penske itself has been great here at "The Paperclip" over the years. Berry qualified 14th for this weekend's Cook Out 400 race and showed pretty good speed on the long run in practice, ranking 10th-best when it came to 30-lap average during the session. He also finished fourth at Phoenix earlier this month, and while that track is quite different than Martinsville, they're both short, flat tracks, so there is some comparison there. At $8,100 on DraftKings this weekend, Josh Berry is a playable driver in the 38-car field. He has top-10 upside and could sneak in to the top five, which would likely put him into the optimal DFS lineup.

After Josh Berry's semi-surprise first win at Las Vegas last week, he has continued to keep up his consistently good qualifying and starts on the outside front row for Sunday's Homestead race. Although he's definitely gained a lot of speed over his entire sophomore season, he still needed a lot of help from faster cars or drivers either losing tires or making strategic errors. It still seems unlikely to expect Berry to lead any particular non-drafting oval race without some help, but he's obviously a lot faster than last year. Berry did have a solid 11th-place finish in his first Homestead start last year, so he'll likely be a strong contender for a top-10 finish. However, he qualified too well to have much DFS value unless you think he'll lead the race, which is definitely possible since he's arguably looked faster than pole-sitter Alex Bowman this year.
