Josh Berry Has DFS Upside at Kansas, But Concerns Linger
2 years agoJosh Berry qualified 29th for Sunday's AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway, but far the slowest car out of the Hendrick Motorsports camp. He came in a time of 31.036 seconds, nearly a full second slower than pole winner (and teammate) William Byron. However, we have seen Berry start further back in the field and be just fine in the race, particularly at Richmond and Dover, where he started back in 30th and 23rd (respectively) before coming home 2nd and 10th when the checkered flag waved. With his 29th-place starting spot for Kansas on Sunday, Josh Berry is a strong DFS play for place differential point potential, but it's nowhere near a guarantee; remember back to the Las Vegas race in March--the track that is most similar to Kansas--where Berry started back in 32nd and struggled all day before finishing 29th. During practice on Saturday, Berry was 15th-fastest out of 22 cars when it came to ten-lap average.
