Josh Bell Hitless Over His Last Three Starts
3 years agoWashington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell had a rough final stretch of the week last week. Over his last three starts, from Thursday to Sunday, he went 0-for-10. Sunday's game was his worst showing overall as he struck out three times. Bell was heating up before this cold stretch. He had three consecutive multi-hit games before this past Thursday. He's been stuck in a platoon with Ryan Zimmerman and Zimmerman has been significantly more effective this year, slashing .318/.348/.565 with five home runs while Bell has slashed .206/.268/.382 with six home runs. Bell is a frustrating player to roster in fantasy right now. He's worth a roster spot in deep, daily lineup lock leagues, but in all other formats he's a drop candidate.
