Joseph Woll To Start Wednesday Versus Senators
11 months agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll is the projected starting goaltender for the club for Wednesday's home game against the rival Ottawa Senators. The 25-year-old came on in relief of Ilya Samsonov on Monday versus the Tampa Bay Lightning and turned aside 18 of 19 shots en route to a come-from-behind overtime victory. Through seven appearances (five starts) this season, Woll owns a healthy 2.30 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage while going 4-3-0 on the young season. Given Samsonov's struggles so far this season, there's a real chance Woll could get some runway, if he continues to perform well, as the Maple Leafs' No. 1 netminder, making him a solid waiver-wire addition or trade target in fantasy hockey.
