Joseph Woll Lands On Injured Reserve
6 months agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll (lower body) has been placed on Injured Reserve. The move comes after the team ruled Woll out for Wednesday's season opener against Montreal due to lower-body tightness. He will now be forced to miss at least seven days of action, meaning the Maple Leafs won't have Woll available for three games. The team has called up Dennis Hildeby from the minors to work as Anthony Stolarz's backup versus the Canadiens. Stolarz has posted a 3-1-0 career record against the 24-time Stanley Cup champions. Hildeby looks set for his NHL debut on Thursday versus New Jersey.

Joseph Woll Stands Tall Against Colorado
2 weeks agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll stopped 38 of the 39 shots he saw en route to defeating the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday evening. Woll's lone blemish came in the second frame when Colorado wing Valeri Nichushkin scored his 18th goal of the season on the power play. Woll would then stop all 11 shots he saw in the final frame to seal the victory. This outing extended his winning streak to three contests. During this stretch, the 26-year-old has held an impressive 1.95 GAA with a .939 save percentage. Before this recent surge, Woll carried a much higher 3.73 GAA with a .871 save percentage. Fantasy managers should expect Woll to continue to share the Toronto crease with Anthony Stolarz. Woll's next start will likely come on Saturday against the Nashville Predators.

Joseph Woll Starts First Leg Of Back-To-Back Wednesday
2 weeks agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll is set to start in Wednesday's matchup against the Colorado Avalanche. The Maple Leafs have two games in two nights and will likely turn to Anthony Stolarz in Thursday's clash against the New York Rangers. Although Woll hasn't seen much action lately, he has performed admirably when called upon. He boasts a record of 4-1-0 in his last five appearances. For the season, Woll holds a 23-12-0 record with a 2.76 goals-against average, a .905 save percentage, and one shutout. On Wednesday, Woll faces a challenging test against the NHL's leading scorer, Nathan MacKinnon, and Colorado's high-octane offense.

Joseph Woll Starting On Monday
3 weeks agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll will get the starting nod on Monday evening against the Calgary Flames. Anthony Stolarz has gotten the nod in each of the previous two contests. In Woll's last start, he picked up a victory and allowed three goals on 33 shots. Over his previous four games, Woll has held a 3-1 record with an underwhelming .871 save percentage with a 3.90 GAA. However, before this stretch, the 26-year-old held a strong 2.61 GAA with a .915 save percentage over his last seven games. Fantasy managers should view Woll as a top option in DFS, facing a Calgary offense that has struggled to generate consistent offensive opportunities. Stolarz will likely get the nod in their next contest on Wednesday against the Colorado Avalanche.

Joseph Woll Battling Illness; Anthony Stolarz Expected To Start
1 month agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll (illness) is under the weather ahead of Friday's contest against the New York Rangers. As a result, Anthony Stolarz was in the starter's crease during practice and is expected to draw his second straight start. Since Stolarz has returned from long-term injured reserve, the Leafs have opted to rotate their goalies. However, with Woll under the weather, Stolarz will get the nod for the second-straight outing. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Woll's status leading up to their next contest on Sunday as he could be cleared to face the Penguins. Since returning from injury, Stolarz has held a stellar 3-0 record with a .918 save percentage, with a 2.62 GAA. With Adam Fox (upper body) on injured reserve and several New York forwards viewed as game-time decisions, Stolarz is a solid option in DFS competitions this evening.
