Jose Ureña Throws Team-Best Fifth Quality Start
6 years agoMiami Marlins starter Jose Ureña recorded his fifth quality start of the season on Wednesday, exiting the game after six innings of work while in line to earn his first win of the season. Ureña allowed one run on a season-low three hits and two walks while striking out six, his fifth start of the season with six or more strikeouts. He was looking like he was turning a corner earlier this month, posting a 2.84 ERA with a 7.82 K/9 over four starts between April 27 and May 13, but then he allowed eight runs over his next two starts with a 6.75 K/9. Ureña's inconsistency hurts his fantasy value, but he remains a decent, matchup-dependent streaming option in most 12-team mixed and NL-only leagues.
