Jose Ramirez Diagnosed With Left Foot Contusion
3 years agoCleveland Indians third baseman Jose Ramirez was diagnosed with a left foot contusion after exiting Friday's game against the Pirates early. He limped off the field after being hit by a pitch in the top of the eighth frame. Ramirez is considered day-to-day. He will undergo further testing on his foot over the weekend, but fantasy managers can breathe a sigh of relief as the 28-year-old reportedly avoided a serious injury. Cleveland's star 3B is slashing .270/.354/.539 with 16 homers, 44 RBI, 48 runs scored, and six stolen bases across 67 games in 2021. Yu Chang and Ernie Clement would handle third base duties and see additional at-bats while Ramirez is sidelined.
