Jose Quintana A Hot Name On The Trade Market
2 years agoPittsburgh Pirates left-hander Jose Quintana is "among the most popular pitchers on the trade market right now," according to sources of MLB Network's Jon Morosi. The Toronto Blue Jays were specifically named as a potential landing spot by Morosi with the team losing Hyun Jin Ryu (elbow) to Tommy John surgery and the struggles of Yusei Kikuchi. Quintana has a 3.33 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP across 16 starts on the year. Most recently, on Tuesday, the 33-year-old held the New York Yankees to one run over five innings while recording seven strikeouts. He's a worthy waiver wire add if he's out there in your league. His value can only go up if he winds up being dealt out of Pittsburgh as the Pirates have only rewarded him with two wins despite his strong pitching this year.
