2 years agoLos Angeles Angels manager Phil Nevin called on southpaw Jose Quijada for the ninth inning in Friday's 2-0 victory over the Kansas City Royals. He struck out a pair while allowing one hit, a single, and picked up his fourth save of the season. Quijada has yet to give up a run this season over eight innings and has recorded eight strikeouts and one walk. Carlos Estevez, the presumed closer who has a couple of saves himself, got the eighth inning on Friday. The Angels closer situation should still be considered a committee, but it looks like Quijada is leading the pack.--Spencer Seguin
