Jose Miranda Records Hit In 12 Straight At-Bats, A First In The Expansion Era
5 months agoMinnesota Twins third baseman Jose Miranda recorded two hits in his first two at-bats on Saturday, extending his streak to 12 straight at-bats recording a hit. He did get retired once today to go 2-3 at the plate with an RBI in the Twins' 9-3 win over the Houston Astros. Miranda's streak of 12 straight at-bats with a hit was the first time in the expansion era (since 1961) and the first player overall to do it since Walt Dropo recorded 12 straight hits for the Detroit Tigers in 1952. Miranda improved his OPS to .901 on the season, the highest mark of any Twin with at least 100 PA on the season. Fantasy managers should snag up the righty if still available on the waiver wire. He'll get his next opportunity to keep his hot streak going on Sunday against Houston's scheduled starter Spencer Arrighetti.
