Jose Miranda Could Play In Field Soon
9 months agoMinnesota Twins third baseman Jose Miranda (shoulder) has gone 3-for-8 in Grapefruit League games this spring, all while serving as designated hitter. However, the 25-year-old expects to progress to the field early the week of March 4, with a defensive focus on first base. The former fantasy prospect dealt with right shoulder pain for all of 2023 and posted uninspiring numbers with both the Twins and Triple-A St. Paul. Miranda underwent surgery to clean up the scar tissue around the rotator cuff in his right shoulder at the beginning of October. While he may not have a big-league spot to start 2024, Miranda is worth keeping an eye on this spring to see if a healthier start can help him realize some of his potential.
