Jose Leclerc Sent For Tests On Injured Elbow
4 years agoTexas Rangers pitcher and potential closer Jose Leclerc (elbow) has been sent for additional tests on his ailing elbow. General manager Chris Young is expecting to be without the high-leverage reliever for an extended period of time. The club is also without Jonathan Hernandez (elbow) for a lengthy time — as well as Joely Rodriguez (hamstring) and Brett Martin (back) for shorter stints — so the bullpen is suddenly quite thin. The injuries could open up opportunities for saves and holds for a variety of different pitchers including Josh Sborz and non-roster pitcher Matt Bush. Leclerc threw just two innings last season due to a shoulder injury.
