5 years agoTexas Rangers relief pitcher Joe Leclerc is “real close” to regaining the closer role for the Rangers, according to manager Chris Woodward. Leclerc began the season as the Rangers closer before a poor start to the season saw him demoted and Chris Martin placed in his position. Since that demotion, Leclerc has thrown eight innings, allowing only one run and striking out 15. Leclerc seems to have found his old form based on this small sample. While save opportunities have been infrequent in Texas, Leclerc is worth an add where available for those looking to boost their relief core.--Walt Clark
