Jose Leclerc Earns Second Save Of Season Monday
1 year agoTexas Rangers relief pitcher Jose Leclerc picked up his second save of the season in Monday's 4-3 win over the Mets. Leclerc came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth up by one. He got the first two outs on strikeouts, allowed a walk, and ended the game on a lineout. William Smith has struggled overall lately and Aroldis Chapman had pitched the previous two days, so Leclerc got the call to close this one out. The 29-year-old has pitched well this season, compiling a 2.51 ERA with a 9.84 K/9 rate and a 4.40 BB/9 rate. However, his fantasy value will remain limited unless he can break into the high-leverage mix consistently.
