2 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals are expected to call up rookie infielder Jose Fermin from the minors to join the team for their weekend series against the Chicago White Sox, according to a source. Fermin had his spring interrupted by a quadriceps injury and has gone just 4-for-24 since rejoining Triple-A Memphis. The Cardinals are in need of more infield depth with both Tommy Edman (wrist) and Brendan Donovan (arm) dealing with injuries heading into next week's All-Star break, so Fermin could see a few starts this weekend to get the club to the break. The 24-year-old will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game, but he can be ignored for now for fantasy purposes.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
