Jose Davila Tallies Double-Digit Punchouts In Second Straight Start
4 months agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitching prospect Jose Davila tossed six shutout innings on Wednesday evening. He allowed just three hits and struck out 11 batters. This was his second consecutive start with double-digit punchouts, as he struck out 12 in his most recent outing. Prior to these two starts, the 21-year-old has struggled with a poor 7.58 ERA, 1.96 WHIP, and a 17:22 BB:K ratio in his previous seven outings. This is a great sign as the young right-hander has begun to turn the corner at Single-A. Davila could be a candidate to reach High-A in the coming weeks if he continues to showcase this elite strikeout production.
