Jose Cisnero Shut Down For The Rest Of The Year
3 years agoDetroit Tigers relief pitcher Jose Cisnero (elbow) will not pitch again in 2021, according to Tigers manager A.J. Hinch. Cisnero landed on the injured list on September 14 after suffering a right elbow laceration. The injury occurred after he slipped on the stairs at his house. He has been with the Tigers lately and has been playing catch on the side, but the team didn't think there was a reason to bring him back for a final bullpen stint or two. The 32-year-old right-hander had a decent year out of the pen. Over 67 games, he posted a 3.65 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. He tallied 18 holds and four saves, but he also blew five save opportunities.
