Jose Cisnero Records One-Pitch Save On Sunday
3 years agoDetroit Tigers relief pitcher Jose Cisnero recorded his fourth save of the year in Sunday's win over the Chicago White Sox. Gregory Soto entered the ninth inning of the game while the Tigers were up 6-2, but he went on to give up three earned runs over 2/3 of an inning before he was pulled. Cisnero came on after the team's lead was reduced to one run and managed to get Andrew Vaughn to line out on just one pitch to end the game. With Michael Fulmer (neck) sidelined, it looks to be relatively clear that Cisnero is the primary closer for the team. Soto is the next man up behind him and his struggles on Sunday should widen the gap between the two relievers even more.
