Jose Cisnero Has Allowed One Earned Run In His Last 22 Innings
3 years agoDetroit Tigers relief pitcher Jose Cisnero has allowed just one earned run in his last 22 innings entering play Sunday. The veteran's ERA over that span is a minuscule 0.41. He's also struck out 23 batters while walking just six and surrendering 10 hits. What's more, the 30-year-old has recorded three saves and eight holds during the stretch as one of manager A.J. Hinch's most trusted high-leverage relievers. Cisnero has been utilized in those high-leverage situations alongside Michael Fulmer and Gregory Soto this season. All three have pitched in the ninth as well, with Hinch opting to play the matchups late in games. With Fulmer currently on the injured list and Soto used mainly against tough left-handed batters, Cisnero could very well see the majority of the Tigers' save opportunities for the time being.
