Jose Castillo Finally Ready To Contribute Again
4 years agoSan Diego Padres reliever Jose Castillo appears ready to finally contribute again this season. After a stellar 2018 where he posted a 3.29 ERA and electric 12.2 K/9, Castillo has pitched only 2/3 innings in two seasons dealing with myriad arm injuries. Still just 25 years old, the Friars believe he's a "full-go" in spring training, but he'll likely be eased into action. Fangraphs currently has Castillo outside of the big league roster, but he should have an opportunity to earn at least low-leverage innings if he's healthy. Not a fantasy consideration in standard formats, Castillo is a target in deep holds league if his stock ascends in March.
