Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Jose Berrios made his fantasy owners happy on Thursday against the Detroit Tigers, but ended up with another loss in the process. The right-hander threw six innings of one-run ball, striking out seven and allowing one walk. He managed to get out of a couple of jams, too, including a dire one in the bottom of the sixth inning. With runners on second and third and no outs, Berrios pitched his way out to conserve a 2-1 lead. Unfortunately, the Tigers took advantage of his exit — and Addison Reed — which ultimately led to a 5-2 loss for the Twins. Nonetheless, the 24-year-old Berrios is now coming off two consecutive quality starts, including an absolute gem against the White Sox on June 7. Sticking with Berrios after some early-season frustrations has definitely paid off for fantasy owners. With that said, the right-hander has a tough task ahead of him against the Red Sox next Tuesday.--Mauricio Castillo

Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Jose Berrios will be the team's Opening Day starter next Thursday, March 27, against the division-rival Baltimore Orioles at home, according to manager John Schneider. Kevin Gausman has been slow-played during spring training, which is probably why Berrios is getting the nod to start the first game of the year. The 30-year-old veteran's strikeout rate fell to just 19.5 percent last year with Toronto, although he finished with a decent 3.60 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with 153 strikeouts and 54 walks in 192 1/3 innings over 32 starts. He's had a solid spring with a 2.35 ERA, 13 strikeouts and four walks in four starts covering 15 1/3 innings pitched. Berrios is no longer a big strikeout guy, which lowers his fantasy floor and ceiling, but he's been as durable as they come for a starting pitcher. We would recommend avoiding him in DFS in a tough first matchup against the O's.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios tossed seven innings of one-run ball in Saturday's 7-2 victory over the Cardinals, allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out four on the way to earning his 16th win of the season. It was the 30-year-old's seventh consecutive quality start and 20th on the season. The 2x All-Star has been good at home, posting a 10-2 record with a 2.69 ERA, and has put together a nice season overall, with a 3.44 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and 12.5% K-BB% to go with his 16-9 record.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller

Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Jose Berrios tossed a gem in a 3-1 win over the Oakland A's on Friday. Berrios allowed one run on six hits over seven innings while striking out eight and walking one to earn the win. The veteran wound up notching 12 swinging strikes to improve his record to 10-9 on the season. Overall, Berrios has a 3.97 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and 111 strikeouts over 142 2/3 innings of work. Even though his strikeouts are down this season, Berrios remains a solid mid-rotation asset in fantasy leagues. He will look to stay hot in his next start, which is scheduled for Wednesday against the Los Angeles Angels.--Matt T - RotoBaller

Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios was racking up strikeouts during Sunday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Berrios recorded 10 strikeouts while allowing four runs in a no-decision. The long ball continues to haunt Berrios as all the damage in this game came off home runs. Despite that, Berrios was able to miss enough bats with his excellent stuff that it kept his team in the game. He'll take a 3.76 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 87/29 K/BB ratio into his next start against the Arizona Diamondbacks.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
