Jose Berrios Notches Quality Start In Loss
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Jose Berrios pitched well despite being charged with his fifth loss of the season. Berrios pitched seven innings, allowing two runs, zero earned, on three hits. The right-hander struck out four batters while issuing no walks. Berrios blanked a strong Angels lineup for seven frames but had the bad luck of going up against Patrick Sandoval, who carried a no-hitter into the ninth inning against Minnesota. Berrios has recorded six quality starts that have either resulted in a no-decision or a loss, something that perhaps would be different if he were pitching for a contending team. Berrios should be an intriguing starter on the trade market in the coming days with a 3.48 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and 126 strikeouts in 121 2/3 innings.
