Jose Berrios Lasts Three Innings Tuesday
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios had a rough outing versus the White Sox on Tuesday, allowing four runs over three innings pitched in the club's 5-2 loss. He gave up a whopping nine hits including three-straight to begin the game and six total in a four-run first inning. The bright spot was Berrios struck out six batters without issuing a free pass before getting pulled after throwing 68 pitches. After dominating his first two starts as a Jay, Berrios has struggled over his last three outings with 12 ER in 12 1/3 IP to push his ERA up to 3.70 on the year. Managers should stay the course with the right-hander as he'll have a chance to right his ship with a matchup versus the Tigers this weekend.

Jose Berrios Strikes Out Eight In Friday's Win
7 months agoToronto Blue Jays right-hander Jose Berrios tossed a gem in a 3-1 win over the Oakland A's on Friday. Jose Berrios Notches 10 Strikeouts
8 months agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios was racking up strikeouts during Sunday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Berrios recorded 10 strikeouts while allowing four runs in a no-decision. The long ball continues to haunt Berrios as all the damage in this game came off home runs. Despite that, Berrios was able to miss enough bats with his excellent stuff that it kept his team in the game. He'll take a 3.76 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 87/29 K/BB ratio into his next start against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Jose Berrios Saddled With Loss On Monday
9 months agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios allowed three runs on five hits across 5 2/3 innings during Monday's 3-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. He struck out four batters and issued one walk. It was not the best performance from Berrios as he gave up two solo home runs and needed 105 pitches. The outing interrupted a stretch of five straight quality starts for the right-hander, although he has now surrendered a home run in eight of his past nine appearances. Berrios has still been a productive fantasy arm overall as he has posted a 2.93 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 64:22 K:BB across 86 innings in 2024. There may be some regression in store due to his limited strikeout capabilities and the propensity to give up homers. He is a mid-tier fantasy option against the Cleveland Guardians in his next projected start.
