Jose Berrios Lasts Seven Innings In No-Decision
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Jose Berrios went seven innings in Sunday's no-decision against the Detroit Tigers. Berrios didn't have his best stuff, allowing four runs on three hits and four walks, though he did fan eight batters. His sinker was outstanding on Sunday, as it was responsible for 15 called strikes and an 88.6 MPH average exit velocity. Berrios has been a solid fantasy starter this season, with a 3.48 ERA and a 114:31 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 108 2/3 innings pitched this season. Those numbers are supported by a 3.71 SIERA, 43.2 percent groundball rate, and a 29.5 percent CSW (called strikes plus whiffs). Berrios could see his already solid fantasy value jump up if he is dealt to a contender at the trade deadline.
