Jose Berrios Allows Nine Hits In Defeat Sunday
6 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Jose Berrios was not at his best on Sunday against the Boston Red Sox. He pitched just 4 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on a whopping nine hits, walking three and striking out six. The Red Sox needed just those three runs to defeat the Twins and hand Berrios his eighth loss. The young gun has now notched three sub-par outings in his last five starts, bringing his ERA to 3.56. That said though, he still owns an excellent 1.05 WHIP and a 9.2 strikeouts-per-nine-innings ratio. Next up for Berrios is a plus-matchup against the Kansas City Royals where he will be an above-average daily fantasy option.
