Jose Bautista Strikes Out In Phillies Debut
6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies veteran Jose Bautista made his club debut on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park against the Washington Nationals, striking out in a pinch-hit role. The Dominican native was acquired from the New York Mets after clearing waivers, remaining in the NL East after also playing with the Atlanta Braves this year. The 37-year-old is a far cry from the All-Star slugger that he was in Toronto, but can provide some solid power in a reduced role off the bench. While he's hitting .196 this season, Bautista has 11 home runs and 42 RBI.
