7 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Jose Alvardo earned his first career save versus the Tigers Monday. He came in with the bases loaded and a 3-0 lead. Alvardo would give up a hit to make it 3-2 but would close out the game. He closed because Alex Colome has pitched three of the past four days. Alvardo is not much of an option right now.--Jamie Mellor
