Jose Alvarado To Throw Live Batting Practice Wednesday
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies lefty Jose Alvarado (elbow) is scheduled to throw live batting practice on Wednesday, according to MLB.com. Manager Rob Thompson told reporters that if everything goes well, the 28-year-old will almost be ready to begin a rehab assignment. Alvarado was enjoying the best numbers of his career before going down with elbow inflammation and hitting the injured list on May 10. Over 14.1 innings, the southpaw posted a 0.63 ERA, 0.63 WHIP, and 46.2% strikeout rate and had yet to walk a batter while adding five saves. Fantasy managers can expect to have Alvardo back in mid-June, and hopefully, he can take back the closer role.
