1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Jose Alvarado (elbow) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday, and it seems likely that he'll make two appearances before being activated from the injured list. Fantasy managers can probably expect the 28-year-old southpaw to be back in the Phillies bullpen early next week at some point, barring a setback this weekend in the minors. Alvarado had five saves and was one of the most dominant relievers in baseball at the time of his injury on May 10. At the very least, he should return to share save opportunities with the rest of Philadelphia's loaded bullpen, making him a must-roster in fantasy leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
