Jose Alvarado Suspended Three Games Over Friday Incident
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Jose Alvarado has been suspended for three games for his actions in Friday's game against the Mets, according to MLB.com's Todd Zolecki. Alvarado got into a shouting match with Mets first baseman Dominic Smith after striking him out on Friday, which led to a benches-clearing incident. Zolecki reports that Alvarado will appeal his suspension. Over eight innings of work this season, Alvarado is 2-0 with one save, a 1.13 ERA and 13 strikeouts.
