Jose Alvarado Saves His Seventh Game Sunday
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays reliever Jose Alvarado finished out the game Sunday versus Cleveland. He would come in with the tying run on-deck so he qualified for a save opportunity. Alvarado would allow a two-run hit but otherwise finished out the game to earn his seventh save of the season. In fact, the two runs were credited to the previous pitcher so it did not harm his ERA. Sergio Romo is still called the closer for the team but Jose Alvarado, Chaz Roe, and even Adam Kolarek have gotten ninth-inning work lately. If you are in a deep league and Alvarado remains on the waiver wire, you should probably add him.
