Jose Alvarado Likely To Make One More Rehab Appearance
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies left-handed reliever Jose Alvarado (elbow) is likely to make another minor-league rehab appearance on Tuesday at Double-A Reading before possibly coming off the 15-day injured list. Alvarado allowed one hit, hit a batter and struck out one on Saturday for Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a scoreless frame to earn a win. The 28-year-old southpaw's outing on Saturday was his first on his rehab assignment, but he's only expected to require one more rehab outing before the Phillies return him to their major-league bullpen. Before his injury, Alvarado had been downright nasty, posting a 0.63 ERA (0.84 FIP), 0.63 WHIP, five saves and 24 strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings. He should continue to see plenty of save opportunities once he's making, making him a must-roster in fantasy leagues.
