Jose Alvarado Earns Fourth Save Monday Versus The Yankees
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays reliever Jose Alvarado stood in for a sick Sergio Romo to close out the Yankees on Monday. He would go 1 1/3 scoreless innings and held off a furious rally attempt by one of the best teams in the majors to earn his fourth save of the season. He was filling in for Sergio Romo who had been sent home due to illness. Alvarado is a talented pitcher who is valuable in leagues that reward holds. Do not rule out the possibility that he could gain the role of closer at some point this season.
