Jose Abreu Walks Three Times In Tuesday's Win
3 years agoChicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu had a solid offensive game in the team's 9-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday despite not recording a hit. He went 0-for-1 in the game, but he drew three walks and he was also hit by a pitch. The 34-year-old veteran is hitting just .211 so far this month with a .342 slugging percentage. However, his walk proficiency has led to a solid .388 on-base percentage so far in September. Abreu has 29 home runs on the year to go along with 107 RBI and 80 runs. His 9.1% walk rate is a career-best clip, up from 6.9% last year.
