Jorge Soler Sitting Out Wednesday
1 year agoMiami Marlins outfielder/designated hitter Jorge Soler (hip) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday versus the Tampa Bay Rays and right-hander Zach Eflin. The 31-year-old exited Tuesday night's contest after injuring his hip on a seventh-inning swing and will unsurprisingly get at least one night off to rest his ailment. Soler's absence is key, however, as has not only been an important bat for the Fish over the course of the season but he's been red-hot of late. The veteran is hitting .248 with 11 home runs, 16 runs, 17 RBI, and a .913 OPS across 26 games since July 28. For the season, Soler has connected for 35 HR alongside an .843 OPS across 528 trips to the plate. Jesus Sanchez will take over in right field while Josh Bell handles DH duties Wednesday in Miami.
