Jorge Soler Continues To Pound Baseballs
6 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Jorge Soler smashed his 19th home run on Monday, pushing a two-run shot over the right-center wall in the eighth inning to lead his team to victory. Soler's recent run has been impressive, hitting nine home runs in his last 93 at-bats, putting up an elite rate of one home run per 10.3 at-bats. His batting average still isn't the best, but he's hitting .243 during the run, which is acceptable if the player's going to hit with this much power. The power is certainly real, but the cold streaks that plague most hitters who do nothing but swing for the fences are also likely. As long as owners can withstand those, Soler should be treated as one of the top power hitters in the game.
