Jorge Soler Breaks Out Against Detroit On Tuesday
4 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Jorge Soler finally showed signs of life Tuesday, breaking out in a big way against the Detroit Tigers in the Royals 8-7 loss. Soler went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in the eighth inning to go along with a bases clearer double in the ninth. Soler's six RBIs matched 37.5% of his full-season total entering Tuesday's contest, and this explosion is hopefully the first sign of an upcoming multi-week breakout. The bruting right-hander also boosted his average all the way up to .200, which is the first step in getting his full-season numbers back on track to looking respectable. Managers needy for offensive power might want to take this single game sample size and run with it. Soler can catch lightning in a bottle and go on some insane hot streaks, and tonight might just be the first game in his next hot streak.
