Jorge Polanco Has Knee Surgery, Expected To Be Ready For Spring Training
Jorge Polanco (knee) had surgery to fix the patellar tendon in his left knee and is expected to be ready for the start of spring training in February, according to sources. Polanco has dealt with knee pain in recent seasons and really struggled at the plate in 2024 with the M's while playing through it. The 31-year-old veteran switch-hitter was mainly bothered hitting left-handed, batting .198/.301/.345. Overall, he hit only .213/.296/.355 with 16 long balls and 45 RBI in his first year in Seattle. The surgery should help Polanco get some of his prodigious power back, as well as his lateral movement. Coming off the bad season, it's unknown where Polanco will be playing in 2025, really hurting his all-around fantasy stock. The Mariners have a $12 million club option with a $750,000 buyout and must decide whether to pick it up in early November. After posting a career-low .651 OPS, we'd expect Seattle to decline his option and make him a free agent.

Jorge Polanco Hits Two More Homers, Drives In Five
Jorge Polanco had a huge night on Tuesday, smacking a pair of homers and driving in all five of the M's runs in a 5-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Polanco is the hottest hitter in the majors right now, with six homers and 13 RBI in his last six games. With this performance, he bumps up his season numbers to a .389 AVG, 1.242 OPS, 12 runs, nine homers, 25 RBI, and a steal in 72 at-bats. Polanco has been phenomenal and is a must-roster and must-start player in all formats right now. He is still on the waiver wire in some leagues, so make a claim for him while you still can.

Jorge Polanco Goes Deep Twice On Saturday
Jorge Polanco went 2-for-4 with two home runs, a walk, and an additional run scored in Saturday's 14-0 win over the Miami Marlins. Polanco has four homers in his last four games as he continues to play some of the best ball of his career. The 31-year-old has been studly for the M's this year, hitting .354 with a 1.085 OPS, 10 runs, seven homers, 18 RBI, and a stolen base in 65 at-bats. The only issue for Polanco right now is that he isn't playing every day, but at this point, he should still be rostered in most fantasy leagues, at least until he cools off.

Jorge Polanco Sitting Against Lefty
Jorge Polanco will take a seat during Thursday's contest against the Boston Red Sox with left-hander Garrett Crochet set to take the mound. Through the early part of the campaign, Polanco has only made one start against a southpaw. Instead, Ben Williamson will cover the hot corner, and Cal Raleigh will shift to the DH spot, which will allow Mitch Garver to be behind the dish. Polanco has enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign, posting a strong .339/.356/.589 slash line with two doubles and four home runs. Under the hood, Polanco has generated an elite .424 xwOBA and a .354 xBA, which suggests his production is sustainable. Fantasy managers should expect the 31-year-old to return to the starting nine on Friday when they face Miami right-hander Cal Quantrill. The Mariners are not worth targeting in DFS, as they face Crochet, who enters this game with a 1.13 ERA.

Jorge Polanco Likely To DH For Another Week Or Two
Jorge Polanco (side) is likely to serve as the designated hitter for another one to two weeks, according to a source. With Ryan Bliss out for the foreseeable future after tearing his biceps, it has the M's short-handed with infield options at the major-league level. In the short term at second base, Seattle has the left-handed-hitting Miles Mastrobuoni and switch-hitter Leo Rivas as stop-gap options. Mastrobuoni got the start against a right-hander on Wednesday. The light-hitting Rivas has a dependable glove and some speed, which is useful off the bench. Long term, former first-round prospect Cole Young has been regarded as the team's second baseman of the future. However, a promotion isn't imminent. At third base, Dylan Moore is the team's only viable option right now until Polanco is cleared to return to playing defense.
