Jorge Polanco Drills First Long Ball Of Season
4 years agoMinnesota Twins second baseman/shortstop Jorge Polanco had endured a home run drought to start the season- but ended that with a resounding two-run blast in Wednesday's 10-2 win over the Indians. Polanco stepped up to the plate in the first inning, working the count to 3-1 before pouncing on a Logan Allen fastball, sending it 426 feet into the center-field seats at an exit velocity of 106.3 MPH. The 27-year-old has been pretty unlucky this season, as evidenced by his career-low .227 BABIP, though his walk and strikeout rates have remained in line with his career averages. Polanco is a hold in fantasy baseball, as he's too talented a hitter to bat .193 for long.
