Jorge Lopez Picks Up 12th Save
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles reliever Jorge Lopez picked up a two-out save on Thursday to close out his team's 4-0 win over the White Sox. The 29-year-old entered the frame with runners on first and second, but he was able to strike out both Tim Anderson and Andrew Vaughn on a combined seven pitches to end the contest. It was Lopez's 12th save of the campaign as he's putting together a superb season with a microscopic 0.77 ERA and 0.83 WHIP with 36 punchouts through 35 IP. He's proved to be one of the few bright spots for the O's pitching staff this season, and will keep a stranglehold on the ninth inning job as long as he stays healthy.
