Jorge Lopez Notches Second Save In Wednesday's Win
3 years agoBaltimore Orioles pitcher Jorge Lopez struck out three over 1 1/3 scoreless innings to earn the save in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Oakland Athletics. With runners on first and third, he entered the game in the eighth inning and struck out both batters he faced to preserve Baltimore's one-run lead. The 29-year-old tossed a perfect ninth frame to earn his second save of the season. Lopez owns a 2.57 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and nine strikeouts over seven innings in 2022. The Orioles right-hander is Baltimore's primary closer and should be rostered in all league formats.
