Jorge Lopez Gets The Save On Monday
3 years agoBaltimore Orioles right-hander Jorge Lopez threw a scoreless ninth inning to save a 2-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday. Lopez walked one and notched one strikeout in the frame. The save was Baltimore's first of the season and it lends a slight amount of clarity to the team's ninth-inning plans. Lopez, Dillon Tate, and Paul Fry were projected to form a closer committee for the team but it is notable that Tate got two outs in the seventh inning and Fry did not pitch. For now, fantasy gamers desperate for saves can pick up Lopez but don't expect the Orioles to provide him with many save opportunities.
