4 years agoMiami Marlins catcher Jorge Alfaro will begin the 2020 season on the 10-day injured list, although the organization did not immediately announce the reason. To take his spot on the 30-man roster, infielder Sean Rodriguez had his contract selected. Alfaro had a stronghold on the team’s primary catching duties, looking to take the next step to stardom this year (18 homers in 2019). His absence will pave the way for veteran backstop Francisco Cervelli to see the vast majority of duties behind the dish, making him an intriguing add for those scrambling to replace Alfaro in standard leagues.--Jesse Borek
