Jorge Alfaro Drives In First Run In Win
6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies catcher Jorge Alfaro set the tone early for the Phillies on Tuesday night en route to a victory over the top team in baseball, the Boston Red Sox. The 25-year-old, who could be seeing a sharp decrease in playing time soon, smacked an RBI double in the second inning, giving the Phillies a lead they wouldn’t surrender. Of course, Alfaro and Andrew Knapp appear to be in position to fight for the backup catcher spot now that the club has acquired All-Star catcher Wilson Ramos, presumably to be the No. 1 catcher. The 30-year-old is currently on the DL with a left hamstring strain.
