Jordan Zimmermann Takes Loss Versus Royals
6 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann was saddled with the loss on Tuesday night against the Kansas City Royals, allowing four earned runs on seven hits over five innings. He struck out four and walked just one, but this was a rough outing for the 32-year-old as he threw just 59 of his 84 pitches for strikes. Zimmermann had made three very quality starts in a row prior to this dud, allowing just two earned runs over his last 20 innings. For the season, he has a 4-2 record, 3.97 ERA, and a 65/12 K/BB ratio over 68 innings. Despite this forgettable outing, Zimmermann is worth taking a look at in 12+ team leagues due to his recent good form and moderate ability to get strikeouts.
